DCCF Thanks Recent Donors

Posted Monday June 23, 2025

Recent donations made to the Doniphan County Community Foundation allow the Foundation to do more and serve more groups in our communities.  The Board of Trustees wants to thank these recent donors.

As many of you know, DCCF is starting to plan for Give Where You Live Day 2025 and is collecting Match Money from local businesses and individuals who want to support the 36 nonprofits in the Foundation.  As they did last year, Charles and Nancy Batchelder of Highland have contributed $5,000.00 Match Money.  Their donation will be pooled with other Match Money donations to be distributed among all the participating funds during our Match Day event December 5-7, 2025.  Last year, the Foundation happily distributed $95,000.00 in Match Money to our participating funds.  THANK YOU, CHARLES AND NANCY BATCHELDER!  When giving the donation, Nancy stated that she and Charles want to make a difference in the quality of life in Doniphan County now and in the future.

If some of you need to use your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) this year, please remember that you may be able to give directly to a nonprofit like Doniphan County Community Foundation without paying taxes on the donation.  (Always check with your financial advisor.)

DCCF also recently received a generous memorial donation from the family of Gene Speaks of Troy.  The Foundation will use this money to support our nonprofits.  Tom Speaks, who served on the DCCF Board for several years, stated that he and his family members want to honor Gene by contributing to the area nonprofits.  THANK YOU SPEAKS FAMILY.  Your donation will aid our nonprofits with their projects that make Doniphan County a great place to live, love, work, and play.

In other news, 2025 officers for DCCF are President Neil Coufal, neilwc13@yahoo.com; Vice-President Teresa McAnerney, tm@nekef.org; Secretary Joann Karn, joann@cityofhighlandks.com; Treasurer Marty Allen, mallen@carsoncomm.com; and Fund Liaison Esther Gormley, esther_gormley@hotmail.com.  Other board members are Sue Bartley, Melanie Davis, Doris Delzeit, Nancy Diebolt, Pam King, Wayne Meyer, Adrienne Neibling, Bryan Rhodd, and Ashley Tilton.

DCCF is growing: Doniphan County Baseball, Doniphan County Services and Work Skills, and Wathena Recreation have recently  created funds.  The Highland Historical Society joined DCCF late last year.  Other funds who are interested in becoming part of DCCF may contact any DCCF officer for help.

As Doniphan County Community Foundation continues making a positive difference in our communities, residents are noticing and supporting the foundation with donations.
